Adult Marijuana Use Reaches Record Levels 

In the latest edition of the “Monitoring the Future” (MTF) report found that young adults not in college used marijuana products at a rate of 3 times that of young adults enrolled fulltime in college. Other findings included that marijuana use for adults aged 19 to 50 have reached record numbers. Additionally, the rate of vaping marijuana products has continued to rise over the last several years. The most notable increases taking place after marijuana was made legal for commercial adult use in the United States.

The MTF study examines national level data on substance use trends among teenagers and adults, ages 19 – 60 years, and has collected annual data since 1976. With well over 110,000 people surveyed to date, the MTF offers an extensive historical reference for substance use trends over the last 4 decades in America.
